Legal & Service Terms

Terms of Service

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

Welcome to Teacher AID (also referred to as "TeacherAid", the "Platform", or the "Service"). Teacher AID is an adaptive educational technology platform developed under the Foundational Learning Acceleration Program (FLAP) by the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) and IIDS Labs.

By accessing, registering for, or using the Platform—whether through our web application or mobile services—you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, educational institution, or school district, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that institution to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & User Roles

Teacher AID serves three primary user groups within the educational ecosystem:

🏫 School Administrators

Authorized institutional representatives responsible for school onboarding, teacher management, facility schedules, and student cohort oversight. Administrators are responsible for ensuring that all teachers and students created within their institution comply with applicable educational regulations.

👩‍🏫 Teachers & Educators

Classroom instructors who create lessons, generate practice materials, track student diagnostics, and supervise learning activities. Teachers act as authorized educational proxies in managing student access and monitoring student interactions.

🎓 Students & Learners

Young learners accessing guided, adaptive learning modules and interactive practice sessions. Student accounts are provisioned exclusively through authorized school administrators or teachers, without collecting personal emails or phone numbers.

2. Acceptable Use & Conduct

All users agree to utilize Teacher AID strictly for constructive educational purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the platform to distribute harmful, obscene, harassing, or defamatory content.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract unauthorized source code or proprietary lesson datasets.
  • Circumvent account authentication systems, access controls, or multi-tenant school boundaries.
  • Submit personally identifiable sensitive information (such as home addresses, personal phone numbers, or financial details) into interactive AI tutoring prompts.
  • Interfere with platform infrastructure or disrupt server availability for other schools and students.

3. Generative AI & Interactive Tutoring

Teacher AID leverages state-of-the-art Generative Artificial Intelligence (including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) to assist teachers in curriculum generation and provide real-time scaffolding to students:

  • Educational Scaffolding: AI responses and hints are pedagogical aids designed to augment, not replace, certified educators and curriculum standards.
  • Output Verification: While our models are customized for child-safe educational contexts, teachers are encouraged to review AI-generated lesson content and assessments before publishing.
  • Privacy in AI: Data sent to external AI processing APIs is anonymized and transmitted through enterprise endpoints under contractual terms that forbid using student prompts to train public AI models.

4. Analytics & Service Telemetry (Google Analytics)

To maintain high reliability, optimize lesson loading speeds, and understand feature engagement across classroom devices, we utilize Google Analytics (Measurement ID: G-W5DC814RPN).

  • Anonymized Telemetry: Google Analytics collects aggregate metrics (such as page views, device/browser types, and session duration) to help our engineering and research teams improve platform performance.
  • Child Privacy Safeguard: In strict adherence with our Privacy Policy, student identifiable data (such as names, individual scores, and private classroom notes) is never sent to Google Analytics or third-party ad networks.
  • No Commercial Profiling: We do not sell analytics data, display third-party advertisements, or build behavioral marketing profiles of students.

5. Intellectual Property & User Content

Platform Rights: All software, designs, algorithms, branding, and FLAP educational frameworks remain the intellectual property of IIDS and IIDS Labs.

Institutional & User Content: Schools and teachers retain ownership of original educational materials, lesson plans, and classroom materials uploaded to Teacher AID. By submitting content, you grant Teacher AID a non-exclusive license to host, display, and format that content solely to deliver the educational service to your designated classes and students.

6. Compliance with Privacy Laws & Child Protection

Teacher AID is designed to comply with local and international educational data standards:

  • Nepal Legal Framework: Compliant with the Constitution of Nepal, the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), and the Act Relating to Children, 2075 (2018).
  • International Standards: Aligned with the principles of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

7. Service Availability & Disclaimers

Teacher AID is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for continuous uptime and data durability across urban and rural educational settings:

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation at all times.
  • Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance whenever feasible.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IIDS and IIDS Labs disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding system suitability for specific non-educational purposes.

8. Termination & Account Suspension

Schools and institutions may terminate their account at any time by contacting our support team. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in persistent security violations, abusive conduct, or misuse of the AI learning platform. Upon institutional termination, school data can be exported and will be permanently purged in accordance with our data retention guidelines.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically to reflect platform enhancements, pedagogical advancements, or legal updates. When significant modifications occur, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify participating institutions through system announcements. Continued use of Teacher AID after revisions constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
